Mad Love

Monday, January 14, 2013

We often tell our customers who are looking for a place to start to find one piece that they love and build off of that.

We were reminded of our own advice when we came across this great set of screen printed napkins at a gallery night in Madison this past October. Jeff and I immediately loved the napkins and had to buy some kitchen towels in the same design for our own house. Local artist, Rosy Hawbaker, owner of ReCreative Crafts (http://www.etsy.com/shop/RecreativeCrafts) makes these along with oodles of other Madison and Wisconsin themed tshirts and baby onsies. One of my favorites is her "Made Locally" baby onesie (http://www.etsy.com/listing/82843863/wisconsin-onesie-made-locally)…makes me chuckle every time I see it. ;

What I was getting to is that we loved them so much we decided we wanted to design a wedding tablescape around them for the 2013 Wedding Planner and Guide Winter Bridal Show! The show was this past weekend and I thought I would share with you our thought process, the finished product and at the end of this post, some exciting news!

Here are the napkins that started the idea:

Window Dressing: Wood Crate Photo Display

Crate island for Krakora Photography built by A La Crate Vintage Rentals

Window dressing is a bit of a lost art, one that we would love to rekindle here in Madison. It's something that I (Sarah) have done in the past and though challenging, am ridiculously drawn to.

When Mike and Heather Krakora, owners of Krakora Studios, approached us about doing a holiday window display, I couldn't wait to dig in. They have such great windows to work with, not to mention awesome photography!

Two Perfect Marriages

Monday, September 3, 2012

A historic building in the heart of Milwaukee's Third Ward (Cuvée Champagne Lounge), made for the perfect backdrop for our inventory this weekend AND a wedding ceremony for two amazing people…Cody and Lesley. Congratulations you two! It was a joy working with you both!

Cheers!

Fruit Preserve Island

Sunday, June 24, 2012

What a gorgeous Wisconsin weekend! We had the privilege of styling Sara and Nick's "fruit preserve island" for their wedding and wanted to share the finished product with you (sorry…just photos, not the actual jams)! Sara's mom, Marian, made 150 jars of fruit preserves as favors for the guests! Amazing, right?!

Myers & Clary Wedding

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Sara and Ben's beautiful wedding was this past weekend. I am smitten over the choices they made for their wedding this weekend. They did such a wonderful job of highlighting key areas in their venue and complimenting the space with our pieces and their design choices!
